HONOURING THE PAST - INSPIRING THE FUTURE

HONOURING THE PAST - INSPIRING THE FUTURE

The Legacy Argument

Sport brings people together, it inspires pride and drives ambition.

Sport improves our mental health and physical wellbeing and has the ability to enrich and change our lives.

Nations world-wide are often defined by their economy, their culture and their sporting success. Countries with an interesting and successful sports culture are most likely to have a greater profile internationally.

A legacy celebration of Ulster's sporting success has the ability to be central of shaping and showcasing Ulster worldwide.

The Economic Argument

The sports sector boosts the economy in 2 main ways. Directly through job creation and indirectly by reducing healthcare costs due to a heathier population.

Ulster Sports Legacy aims to be a catalyst that inspires participation and interest in a variety of sports across Ulster - as a spectator, a volunteer and or as a participant at grassroots, amateur or professional level.

Improving health & wellbeing

Creating better places to live and work

Encouraging
engagement,
debate and reflection

The Social Argument

Research strongly supports the power of sport to deliver sizeable impact on reconciliation, community cohesion, our sense of place and on our physical and mental health & wellbeing.

Ulster Sports Legacy aims to increase our sense of wellbeing, help us feel proud of where we come from, inspire, challenge and stimulate us, and help us lead healthy lives.
